The Moon that Embraces the Sun [해를 품은 달]

The Moon that Embraces the Sun

This is a must watch for all those Saeguk drama lovers. Even if you aren't, I'm sure you'd become one :) Having watched so many Saeguk dramas myself (Dae Jang Geum and Dong Yi just to name a few), this one definitely kept me wanting more.  which is probably why I managed to finish it in 3 days !!! Hahaha....

Well, the story line is quite typical, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, oh brother also meets the same girl and falls in love with her. Oh no! Seeing as the boy is the Crown Prince and the brother is actually the illegitimate son of the current King, you know what will happen :) The Crown Prince doesn't get to choose his bride as usual. All eligible girls will go through the Crown Princess selection 'exam' and one of them will become the Crown Princess. Amazingly, the girl the Crown Prince loves actually got chosen to become his Crown Princess! What a lucky turn of events seeing as how the prince in other dramas always end up with the girl they do not like.... But wait, there is a twist to this because then this show would have ended at episode 2 or 3. With all palace themed dramas, there will sure to be some fights and politics to gain power.
Watch the drama to see what fate has in store for the future King and Queen, the brother and the girl they both love :)

Here are the cast members:

King Lee Hwon
(L) Yeo Jin Goo as young king
(R) Kim Soo Hyun

Heo Yeon Woo / Wol
(L) Kim Yoo Jung as young Yeon Woo
(R) Han Ga In
Prince Yang Myung
(L) Lee Min Ho as young prince
(R) Jung Il Woo
Yoon Bo Kyung
(L) Kim So Hyun as young Bo Kyung
(R) Kim Min Seo
Princess Min Hwa
(L) Jin Ji Hee as young princess
(R) Nam Bo Ra
Scholar Heo Yeom
(L) Im Siwan as young Yeom
(R) Song Jae Hee
Woon
(L) Lee Won Geun as young Woon
(R) Song Jae Rim
*no single shot of him :P*

Character chart
This show is really REALLY GOOD (except for the predictable ending :p)... It didn't receive super high ratings for nothing :) Viewer ratings for the last episode, a whopping 51.8% ! One of the best dramas I've watched this year.

I'm coming to you Paradise~~

Majestic Mt Kinabalu
Credits: http://mount-kinabalu-borneo.com

Wait for me! Another 2 more weeks and I'll be leaving on a jet plane to paradise :) Finally visiting the Land Below the Wind... Ahhhh... blissssss... We'll be splurging there during the last 3 nights of our 10 days trip... Staying in a luxurious spa suite in Karambunai^^ So can't wait. Each spa suite comes with its very own private jacuzzi and sauna! How awesome is that??

I'm already daydreaming about the place :) Ok, that's not the main reason why I'm super excited about this trip... I'm excited because Sabah is like the ultimate destination for snorkeling and diving! Since I can't dive, YEY SNORKELING! *gg* I love the ocean... The last time I went snorkeling was in Gemia Island back in 2010 :( Looooong time ago... Typing this post is making me soooooo happy and super excited already!!

That's the happy part.. The hard part (and frustrating) part is the planning.... I'm officially the holiday planner since nobody wants to take up that responsibility~ Sighs... Armed with only a map and the internet, I'm looking day and night for some good trekking and also snorkeling sites... We'll definitely go for some trekking in Kinabalu Park and snorkel in TAR Park.... Looking for other places as well... Why must Sepilok and Sipadan be on the other side of the map?

Trusty map and my online resources
This holiday is so much harder to plan compared to my Seoul trip... For that trip, I had the help of  interactive maps of the city and the subway so I could estimate how far point A was from point B... Sabah, doesn't have a subway system so we'll be relying extensively on cars... I can't estimate how far one place is from the other so it's really difficult... On the map, Town A seems pretty close to Town B but it could be a few hours away!!

Well, I believe all this strenuous planning will pay off in two weeks!

Put Your Hands Up!!

Had a blast with my cousins :)
Only like a handful of post worthy pictures as we weren't allowed to use our cameras during the 2nd half of the show :(

Fire pyro effects adds a little heat to the show

The boys introducing themselves

Quite disappointed that I wasn't able to record even ONE video...

Aladdin the Musical @ Sunway Lagoon

Aladdin the Musical - A West End Production @ Sunway Lagoon

Sunway Lagoon will be bringing another West End Production to our shores! As you all know, the story is about Aladdin, a street rat, fighting Jaafar, and winning the heart of the beautiful Princess Jasmine with the help of Genie :)

Aladdin

The lovely Princess Jasmine

I am guessing that it will be directed and choreographed by the same guys that worked on Peter Pan the Muscial AND Magical Musicals. This is the information from the website about the production.

"Aladdin The Musical tells the favourite tale of a boy's magical adventure from street rat to Prince, when he is discovered to be 'a diamond in the rough' by Jafar, the evil aide to the bubbly and lovable Sultan. With the help of a magic lamp and a jovial 'rapping' Genie, Aladdin wrestles against the odds to win the heart of Princess Jasmine while he ingeniously uses good to triumph over evil.

This extravagant West End production at the Amphitheatre @ Sunway Lagoon will add a modern, musical twist to its stage play. Integrating contemporary pop music with the classic storyline, Aladdin The Musical is a production that all walks of life will enjoy.

Audiences can expect to see familiar characters such as Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, The Sultan, Jafar, Slave of the Ring and of course The Genie of the Lamp himself. The six principal characters will be played by talents who hail from London's famous West End. They will be joined by an international ensemble cast of dancers, fire eaters and stilt-walkers."

NICE!! I am looking forward to watching this production :) The previous one, Magical Musicals, was really a huge improvement from Peter Pan. I truly enjoyed it. I bet everyone did.

Some familiar faces that will be peforming in this musical.
(Green: Played Tiger Lily in Peter Pan)

Catch Aladdin the Musical at Sunway Lagoon on November 25th. For information on Sunway Lagoon, contact 603 5639 0182 or visit www.sunwaylagoon.com.

The holidays were fun while it lasted~~

Had a long break from last Saturday till last Thursday :) Went back to work on Friday and am on 'holiday' again (weekends = holiday^^)...

Work on Friday was mad... rushing to catch up on my work... by 9am, my table was barely visible... my desktop too! Thank goodness that by lunch time, most of it was cleared... Took back a bit of work and just finished them~

So what have I been up to? Yes, I'm still actively looking for another job. So far, no news yet *Cross fingers* Went to MTV World Stage (so-so this year) , went for David Archuleta's concert (it was FREE!), outings with cousins and friends, Korean Party, AND a trip to Singapore last weekend!

Now am clearing up my comp and backing up my files.... it's taking forever~~~
